Case study overview
When JetBlue® tried to find a solution to connect to the internet wherever they landed, they were stuck. Despite the best efforts of the major MNO’s here in the US, they could not find a financially acceptable, simple to implement solution to connect their FlightLink to a 3G network both domestically as well as abroad.
The problem is not just that it is a 3G network that is gradually being shut down, but that the airline needed the flexibility to connect with no manipulation to over 50 other networks around the world. Also, if the plane was in a fixed location for some time it needed to connect locally and not in a roaming state to get the best rates.
